I’m sorry (and how I’m making it up to you)

I'd love to get my hands on (eyes in front of?) this course! Market selection has long been the biggest area of confusion for me. There are a million and one ways to potentially measure demand for a new product/service, and having some guidance as to which methods are actually indicative of future success would be massively helpful! I'll use the course to finally identify a niche that satisfies both of my primary requirements: personal passion and market opportunity.

Everything I have ever been taught about marketing in promoting in the academic field has focused on broad groups and large demographics. As I'm in the middle of my planning stage of development, this opportunity may be just what I need to help me consolidate my demographics and focus on effective business.

Hey Clay -

The most important thing for me to do right now is 'niche down' and that's what I'm having some trouble with. I spoke with you earlier this week and it appears my initial attempts at writing a sales letter may be too vague or not 'nitched down' enough. I know what I want to do and what I have a passion for…and I truly, with all my heart, think there's a market out there for it and people are struggling with it. I just need to find out how to get in the back door so-to-speak. I'm not interested in marketing any BS on overnight cures and solutions. I want to begin relationships with customers who will stay with me and are committed to what I'm selling and doing.

I am investigating several different verticals right now – areas I have interest and expertise in. I've been struggling on whether I should be teaching other people in my market how to be better at what they do or serve the people that we are all serving. It's in my nature to be passionate and support others in their pursuits, so part of me is always wanting to give my “peers” more support. I want to find a way to decide which should be my focus – Teaching other teachers or teaching my clients.

Clay- I have been struggling for close to a year on what to do. I'm a network administrator and truly love what I do for a living but have decided that being around more for my children is really the thing that I want to do. I want to replace my current income and have the ability to travel with my wife and kids and explore this amazing world with them and see things through their eyes. Corny? Yeah, a little. Fun? HELLS YEAH! I'm tired of being the tired, grumpy dad when I get home. I want to be “Disney Dad”.

I've been wanting to start an online business, but I'm interested in some many different things that seem to already be saturated. I sort of don't think I'd get anywhere in those saturated markets. It would be great to pick a niche that not only I'm passionate about, but would afford the opportunity to make an income and live comfortably.

I would use it to find what my niche should be. I have been blogging for a year and a half and the thing I think is missing most is focus.

I have a lot of ideas, and I'm a bit all over the place – I do some writing, am producing a documentary, work in sales and do some freelance work for a few organizations. For a long time now I've wanted to find a way to make a living on the internet. I have lots of ideas, and I hope your content will help me to realise some of them.

I learned about you from listening to Tripp Lanier’s fantastic New Man Podcast. I am currently a sales consultant for medical software, something I kind of fell into while scrambling to find a way to support my family (wife and 2 year old son). There are thing that I like and some that I don’t about being a 'salesperson' but this path has allowed me to learn valuable lessons and really stretch myself. As someone who was very shy socially while growing up I have had to overcome many mental blocks and fears to get to this point.
I am about to make a major move both geographically and career wise. I will be relocating to another state to be closer to my wife’s family and my job will move from a full time employee position to an independent contractor role (for the same company). This will also give me the independence to pursue something that will lead to a more fulfilling day to day for me and hopefully end the cycle of struggling to get by from paycheck to paycheck.
The company I work for now is mostly internet based so I know a little about online marketing and my wife has been selling small items on ebay and etsy for years to help pay the bills (about $400 a month).
I am an extremely creative (even artistic) person by nature and I learn new skills quickly. I am not sure what product to pour myself into yet, but I am hoping that your program will help me narrow it down.

I've narrowed down my niche and would like to find out how to do the research to find where to reach these people online and how to keep in touch with their needs.

Too many people are slipping through the legal cracks. They make too much money so they don't qualify for free legal help, but don't make enough money to afford a lawyer to help them. I'm going to use the information I learn from you to provide better, faster, cheaper and easier to use legal solutions for individuals and micro businesses.

I already have a general idea of what category I want to dive into, but I need help narrowing it down to a niche. I think that the market research know how of this product will help me decide on a customer to target and help me figure out how to tailor my product to those consumers.

I don't want to go into detail about my idea, although it is very vague at the moment, just because I'm paranoid.

I'll use it to start a side business to supplement my income from my full time job. I want to use the extra money to travel – or specifically, do the international volunteer programs that exist, some of them cost a bit of money.

I already have keyword research that theoretically validates the niche for the info product I want to create. I was fine moving ahead on that information, but I'm looking to expand my toolkit and implement different methods of market research.

I'd use the material to help me think outside my current box. I sonetimes get into a rut regarding what kind of products I could make, and this may be limiting my potential. This niche selection course will hopefully de-rut me for a long time!

For the last 5 years I've been commuting for almost two hour from home to my job. A job I enjoy less each day. I've been trying to find a way to stop that, and do somthing worth with my time, spend more time with my family (at least see my children awake at night, and not just lying asleep in the bed) and be able to enjoy them and enjoy life. I've been reading a lot of info in internet of how having the correct product selling in internet has changed a lot of people, and I just want to learn how to do that, get to people with something they need, or want, or make them know that they need it, and make a living of it.

More important for me is to show (not teach) my children that there are a lot of possibilities in life different than just getting a job and working to make some other people rich.

I think that I can use your advice to make a start in my whole new life.

I have become completely addicted to the freedom that this online stream of income provides. However, making money playing poker is not at all consistent with my values – it's unproductive at best, harmful at worst.
